In the UAE a car spends long hours in direct sun, and that is what wears paint and its clear coat the most. The good news: most of the damage can be avoided with simple daily habits.
Why does paint fade?
UV light slowly breaks down the clear coat, so the paint loses depth and gloss. Dust and the wrong washing technique add fine scratches that show clearly in sunlight.
Habits that make the difference
- Park in the shade or under a cover whenever you can
- Wash early in the morning or after sunset, never in direct sun
- Use a clean microfibre towel and never wipe dry dust off the paint
- Remove bird droppings and bug marks straight away
